Rental Terms
All vehicle rentals are governed by a comprehensive Rental Agreement, which you will receive upon booking confirmation or at the time of vehicle collection. This agreement outlines specific terms, conditions, insurance information, applicable charges, and your responsibilities during the rental period. In the event of any discrepancies between these Terms and the Rental Agreement, the Rental Agreement will prevail.
Eligibility Criteria
Renting a Vehicle with Us
- To rent a vehicle through Car Hire in Bootle, drivers must be at least 21 years old, though age restrictions may differ based on the vehicle type, with extra fees applicable for those under 25. Drivers are required to possess a valid, full driving license suitable for the vehicle category, held for the duration outlined in the Rental Agreement. Valid identification and proof of current address must also be presented, along with payment information and a security deposit. Additional conditions may be specified in the Rental Agreement.
3. Reservations and Payments
- Reservations can be made via our website, by telephone, or directly at our Bootle office. A deposit may be necessary to confirm your booking. The remaining balance and a security deposit are usually payable upon vehicle pickup. All prices are listed in British Pounds (£) and include VAT as applicable. We accept major credit and debit cards, with secure processing through trusted payment providers.
4. Car Pickup and Drop-off
- At the time of vehicle collection, a thorough inspection is required. Any pre-existing damage must be reported immediately. A vehicle condition report will be completed and signed to document the state of the vehicle at pickup. Upon returning the vehicle, it should be in the same condition as when it was collected, with allowances made for normal wear and tear. Any new damage will be evaluated and may result in additional charges. The vehicle should be returned with the same fuel level as received; refueling fees will apply if the fuel level is lower. Late returns may incur extra charges, so please contact us as soon as possible if you anticipate a delay. You will be responsible for any parking tickets, traffic violations, or charges accrued during your rental, along with an administration fee.
5. Coverage and Responsibility
- All rentals include basic third-party insurance. Comprehensive details regarding coverage and excess amounts can be found in your Rental Agreement. Optional insurance plans may be available to help lower your financial responsibility. It is important to review these options thoroughly. You will be liable for any damage or loss up to the excess amount unless you opt for additional insurance. Damage resulting from negligence, misuse, or violation of these Terms remains your responsibility, regardless of any insurance coverage.
Cancellation and Modifications
Cancellation and amendment policies depend on the type of booking and the notice period provided. For precise information, please consult your booking confirmation or Rental Agreement. Please be aware that late cancellations or no-shows may incur additional charges.
7. Restricted Activities
Prohibited Uses of the Vehicle
- Use of the vehicle for illegal activities is strictly prohibited. Engaging in racing, rallying, off-roading, or any activities deemed hazardous is not allowed. The transport of hazardous materials is not permitted. Sub-letting the vehicle or permitting unauthorized drivers is forbidden. Driving under the influence of alcohol or drugs is prohibited. The vehicle must only be used for its intended purpose, and passenger or weight limits must not be exceeded. Operating the vehicle beyond agreed geographical boundaries requires prior authorization.
Breach of these terms may lead to rental cancellation and extra fees.
8. Liability Limitations
To the fullest extent allowed by English and Welsh law, Car Hire Bootle is not responsible for any indirect, incidental, or consequential damages, including loss of profits, data, or business related to your use of our services. Our total liability for any claims is capped at the rental amount paid over the last 12 months. This limitation does not apply to liability for death or personal injury resulting from negligence or fraud.
9. Applicable Law
These Terms are regulated by the laws of England and Wales. Disputes will fall under the exclusive jurisdiction of the English and Welsh courts.
10. Modifications to Terms
We reserve the right to update these Terms at any time. Changes take effect immediately upon posting on our website. Continued use of our services indicates acceptance of the revised Terms.
